How can I help you?

I specialize in helping partners and couples heal after the pain of sexual betrayal. Through individual therapy, couples therapy, and therapeutic disclosures, I guide you toward understanding, rebuilding trust, and finding a path forward together.

My Story

I’m Kris Cristiano, and if you’re on my website, there’s a good chance you’re carrying something heavy—maybe you’re overwhelmed, angry, numb, or stuck in a loop where your mind won’t stop replaying what happened. If that’s you, I want you to know this up front: you’re not crazy, you’re not weak, and you don’t have to figure this out alone. We're not neurologically or biologically designed to do life alone.

Professionally, I’m an LCSW and CSAT, and yes—I’m trained and experienced to support clients in this work.

What it feels like to work with me

I’m boundary-led, direct, and compassionate. I will say the thing that needs to be said. I’ll name what’s happening, call out the patterns, and help you get clear on what’s real. And I’ll do it without shaming you—because I genuinely believe people can change and heal when they choose to.

I’m also very honest about this: I won’t work harder than you do. But I also believe that you can't heal or fix what you can't see. I have clients leave sessions upset at me because of this, but I'm not here to be your friend. I care deeply about people, but you are hiring me to help guide and support you toward healing. I will honor your agency to choose your path. I will warn you of possible consequences, but the choice has to be ultimately yours.

I’ll bring structure, tools, and steady support. But healing requires your participation. If you’re ready to show up, I’m all in with you.

My values: choice over control

One of the biggest traps after betrayal is trying to regain safety through control—checking, tracking, interrogating, monitoring, policing. It makes sense why people do it. But it usually keeps you stuck.

I value choice—not control.

Because real healing happens when you can say:

  • “This is what I need.”

  • “This is my boundary.”

  • “This is what I will do if those needs aren’t met.”

That’s not controlling your partner. That’s protecting yourself and building a life where you’re not held hostage by fear.

I know that the only place true repair and real healing can happen is where there is:

  • truth

  • safety

  • accountability

  • freedom to choose for both partners (this does not mean the partner who did the harm gets to throw this principle in your hurting spouse's face - that's not healing, accountability, or change.)

Couples work (a quick heads-up)

I don’t do couples sessions where people just come to “unload” on each other. If you want to yell and scream, you can do that at home for free.

In sessions with me, we build skills—so you can talk differently, fight differently, and actually move forward outside of therapy. I’m not interested in performative therapy. I’m interested in real change.

And I will always take the side of truth, safety, accountability, and healing. I won’t ask the hurt partner to minimize what happened, and I won’t let the involved partner dodge responsibility.

A little more about me

I’m known for my ability to connect with different kinds of people—because I’m human first. I also do workshops, trainings, and speaking around emotional resilience, self-discovery, and building healthy relationships.

If you work with me, you’ll get someone who is steady, honest, and deeply invested in helping you get your life back—without losing yourself in the process.

Next step

If you’re wondering whether I’m the right fit, start with a 15-minute consultation.

You can tell me what’s going on, ask your questions, and get a feel for me with no pressure. I won't be the right fit for every client. It's important to figure that out quickly before we get started.

And you don’t have to have it all figured out to reach out. Just take the next step.
